No accounts and what we process
3Min Brief is designed to work completely anonymously. There is no sign-up procedure, no user account is created, and no identifying personal data such as email addresses or names is requested or processed. To personalise the experience (language, topics of interest, format and time zone), the app stores these preferences exclusively locally on your device (via localStorage or similar technologies). That data is not transmitted to our servers.
Push notifications (optional)
If you choose to enable push notifications in your browser or through the mobile app, a notification token issued by your device’s operating system (e.g. the Apple Push Notification service) is generated and stored. This token is purely technical, anonymous and cannot be traced back to your identity. It is used solely to send you the daily briefings and can be removed or disabled at any time from your device settings.
Purposes and legal bases
Local preferences serve only to deliver the personalised service as you configured it on your device. Notification tokens are processed, subject to your explicit consent given when you enable notifications, to send you the daily updates. The legal bases are the performance of the requested service and, for push notifications, the data subject’s consent.
Providers and third-party services
Supabase provides the database infrastructure hosting the briefing content and anonymously recording push notification tokens. Vercel hosts the static website. Our internal editorial process (which involves no user data) may use RSS/Atom feeds from public news sources, Google Translate for automatic translation and ElevenLabs to generate the briefing audio.
Retention
Your preferences live exclusively on your device and are kept until you clear your browser/app data or uninstall the app. Push notification tokens are kept as long as the subscription is active and are removed if it is disabled.
Your rights
Because we collect no identifying data (such as an email address or name), we have no way to link local preferences or notification tokens to an identified individual. You can control your data by clearing your browser/app cache and local data, or by disabling notifications in your operating system settings.
